Healthy Boundaries for Ministry

 This course helps ministry leaders create and maintain practical systems that safeguard everyone in the church community. Participants will learn essential concepts on pastoral relationships and how to set up clear procedures for preventing harm, addressing concerns, and fostering safe, respectful spaces. Key topics include managing multiple relationships, abuse prevention, reporting protocols, and fostering a culture of accountability. Through real-life scenarios and ministry-focused tools, leaders will develop skills to protect the vulnerable and support healthy, sustainable ministry environments.

 Grading: All ADC Expand micro-credential courses are pass/fail 

How to Apply

1. Create an Account & Fill out the Application Form
After you've created your account, an application form will pop up. Fill out all fields and submit - it should only take a few minutes to complete. Your application will be reviewed by ADC and you will receive a response within the week. 
2. Enroll in the course of your choice
Once you have been admitted to ADC Expand, you can enroll and pay for your course by clicking the 'Enroll' button on the relevant course page. You will not have to re-apply to take future courses and you will be notified when new courses are launched. 
Your instructor

Rev. Karen Wong

Karen Wong currently serves as the Church Life and Leadership Regional Associate for the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ) and a Chaplain Reservist within the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). She has been instructing the course on Healthy Boundaries for Pastors at CBOQ. 
With over 20 years of experience in the CBOQ family of churches, Karen has pastored the English ministries in a Chinese Baptist church. She obtained her Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Tyndale Seminary and graduated with a double major in Counseling and Youth and Family Ministries. Additionally, she has completed the Arrow Leadership Executive Program and is a certified First-Aid instructor. 
Karen resides in Montreal, Quebec with her husband and two sons. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast, enjoys gardening, and is passionate about exploring new locations while spending quality time with her family and friends.
